Join Padres Pedal on Bike to Work Day 2017!
Padres Pedal the Cause at two Bike to Work Day Pit Stops on May 18th!
It’s May and that means it’s Bike Month across the US. We’re all about a healthy lifestyle and promoting cycling as a great way to stay active and fit. An easy and convenient way to incorporate more cycling into your routine is to commute to work on your bike. For those of us that are time-crunched, commuting to work on your bike is a great way to add more miles to your training without the additional demand on your time on the weekends.
National Bike to Work Week 2017 will be held on May 15-19. On Thursday, May 18, San Diego will be holding its Bike to Work Day with pit stops all around the County set up to give commuters refreshments, goodies and support them on their morning cycling commute. Join thousands of other San Diegans in riding your bike to work! Padres Pedal will be staffing two different pit stops on that day (see below).
Here’s a little bit of trivia about Bike Month. Established in 1956 by the League of American Bicyclists (formerly Wheelmen), National Bike Month is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more folks to give biking a try.
Whether you bike to work or school; ride to save money or time; pump those pedals for a great cause like Padres Pedal; or simply to explore your community, National Bike Month and Bike to Work Day are opportunities to celebrate the unique power of the bicycle and the many reasons we ride.
